Das neue Jahr ist bereits im vollen Gange und es ist an der Zeit, meine modischen Weltansichten in das World Wide Web zu posaunen. Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf viele Konzerte, eine Reise nach Berlin, mein Krähentattoo, das erweitert wird und viele neue Erlebnisse. Gespannt bin ich im Übrigen auch, welche Trends sich vom Laufsteg auf die Straße etablieren werden. Ich stehe ja auf auffälligen Schmuck. Da hat es mich sehr gefreut, dass der Trend zu opulenten Klunkern 2018 weiter bestehen bleibt.  Natürlich ist weniger manchmal mehr. Wenn ich mal zu tief in den Kasten gegriffen und mich jeglicher zusätzlicher Behang aussehen lässt, wie ein Vollhonk, dann darf das schmückende Beiwerk auch ein bisserl filigraner sein. Ansonsten ist mir das Wort Understatement unbekannt. Gerade bei dem Thema Ringe kann es mir gar nicht auffällig genug sein.

The new year is already in full swing and it is time to blare my fashionable world views out into the world wide web. I am looking forward to many concerts, a trip to Berlin, get my crow tattoo extended and many new experiences. Apart from that, I am curious to see which trends will make it from the catwalk to the streets. I am totally into flashy jewellery, so it made me kinda happy to see that opulent bling is still going strong this season. I know that less is sometimes more, and I do wear filigree stuff. But only, if chose a wild pattern mix and any further jewellery makes me look like a moron. Otherwise, the word understatement is unknown to me. Especially when it comes to rings. They can’t be too loud or too big.

Ich liebe Gliederringe. Es war ein bisschen schwer, einen zu finden, der halbwegs auf meine kurzen Finger passt. Aber wer suchet, der findet und so habe ich mir vor sechs Jahren das Modell „Shogun“ von Swarovski gegönnt und es ist Gold wert. Auch ihre Kohle wert sind Schlangenringe. Seit Ewigkeiten zu den eher auffälligeren Schmuckklassikern gehörend, feiern – je nachdem wie die Designer drauf sind–ihr Revival. Bei mir schlängeln sie sich jedenfalls waag-und senkrecht um meine Finger entlang. Was ich an den beiden Designs so mag, ist, dass sie zum eleganten als auch zum Rock-Chic-Look passen und ruckzuck das Outfit aufwerten.

I love armor rings. It was a bit tricky to find on that fits my short fingers. However, she who seeks shall find. So, I treated myself six years ago with a ring called “Shogun” by Swarovski and it is worth a mint. Also worth their money are snake rings. They have been jewellery classics for ages and celebrate from time after time-if the designers feel like it- their comeback. However, they wind themselves horizontal and vertical around my fingers. What I like about both designs is, that they fit very well with an elegant as well for a rock chic look and upgrade the outfit quickly.

Ich mag es bunt. Ja wirklich. Bei Cocktailringen, die mit leuchtenden Peridots, Aquamarinen und Konsorten besetzt sind, schlägt mein Herz höher. Damit setze ich Farbakzente in meinen fröhlich schwarzen Outfits.Wenn ich mich auf eine Skinny Jeans und ein simples Oberteil beschränke, aber ein bisschen Iris Apfel emulieren will, dann gesellen sich Armreifen dazu. Ansonsten pfeife ich auf Stilregeln. Ich mische Silber mit Gold und übertreibe es oft. Wenn es zum Look passt, dann wird es getragen. Es erfordert manchmal Mut, aber es ist ganz nett, aus dem grauen Einheitsbrei heraus zu glitzern.

I like it colourful. I really do. Especially when it comes to cocktail rings. My heart beats higher at the sight of Peridots, Aquamarines and other and all the other gemstones in vivid hues. I like to set colour accents with them when I am wearing all black. Sometimes I limit myself to skinny jeans and a simple long-sleeved shirt. Then I like to emulate Iris Apfel and wear additional bangles and arm cuffs. I don’t really care for style rules. I mix silver with gold and overaccessorize. If it harmonizes with the look, I’ll wear it. It requires some courage, but it is nice to glitter out of the grey mass.
