Momentan ist der Sale-Wahnsinn im vollen Gange und ich mehr oder weniger mittendrin. Die Tage, an denen ich wahllos verbilligte Klamotten gekauft habe sind gezählt. Mein Hirn und mein übervoller Kasten zwingen mich, zu selektieren. Bei meinem neuen, kecken Rock musste ich aber eine Ausnahme machen.
Sale is in full swing right now and I am somehow in the middle. However, the days where I just went and bought random clothes just because they were on Sale are numbered. My brain and my full closet are forcing me to select. With my new, perky skirt, I had to make an exception.
Ich habe nicht gesucht, das aus diversen Tartanmustern zusammengesetzte Teil hat mich bei Zara gefunden. Meine Schockverliebtheit verflog, als ich auf den Preis schaute. Meine Vernunft schaltete sich ein und wispelte dem Modeopfer-Teil meines Hirns zu, dass ich bis zum Sale warten solle.
Die Feiertage verstrichen und ich machte mich samstags auf die Jagd. Habe ich das blöde Ding gefunden? Nö. Bin ich trotzdem mit einem anderen Kleidungsstück aus dem Geschäft gegangen? Absofuckinlutley.
Genervt daheim angekommen habe ich das getan, was ich von Anfang an hätte tun sollen: es online bestellen. Einen Tag später stand der Postbote mit dem Paket vor der Tür.
I did not look, but the piece made of various plaid pattern found me at Zara. I fell in but also very quickly out of love with it as soon as I saw the price tag. So, my reason whispered to the fashion victim part of my brain, that I should wait for Sale to start. And that’s what I did on a Saturday after the holidays. Did I find that stupid thing? No. Did I buy anything else? Absofuckinlutley!
Rather annoyed, I arrived at home and did what I should’ve done in the first place: Order it over the online store. A day later, I held the skirt in my hands.
Da ich eine Sanduhr-Silhouette habe, die mit einem ausladenden Hinterteil verbunden ist, und Zara mit Vorliebe für schmale Frauen schneidert, fällt der Rock hinten rum ein wenig kürzer aus. Aber ich biege mir den Look schon zurecht:
Für mich soll es nicht nach Schuluniform aussehen, in der ich wie Britney Spears durch die Schulgänge fege. Daher sehe ich davon ab, Hemden und Blusen dazu zu kombinieren. Stattdessen ziehe ich persönlich enge, schlichte Oberteile vor. Das betont meine schmale Taille
Je nach Wetterlage kann das ein Rollkragenpulli oder ein Longsleeve sein. Wer auf Nummer sicher gehen will, in Schwarz. Nachdem es sich ja um einen bunten Patchwork-Rock handelt, kann man sich mit einer Reihe an harmonierenden Tönen spielen. Ganz Mutige können auch ein gestreiftes Oberteil tragen. Klingt irre, verlangt ein bisschen Fingerspitzengefühl, aber der Mustermix funktioniert.
Obwohl Schnürboots dem Ganzen eine punkige Attitüde verleihen, war mir nach Absätzen. Die Wahl der richtigen Stieflette war kein leichtes Unterfangen, da ich relativ feste Waden habe und gerade dabei bin den Winterspeck von 2017 zu verlieren, den ich schon 2018 abbauen hätte sollen. Overknees wären eine gute Option gewesen, aber dank „Pretty Woman“ hat sich die Kombi aus Kleid (oder in meinem Fall Rock) zumindest bei mir als ziemlich negativ in mein Hirn eingebrannt. Saublöd, ich weiß. Jedenfalls habe ich ein Paar gefunden, dass meine Waden nicht allzu stark betont.
Since I am blessed with an hourglass figure that includes a bigger booty and Zara caters with it’s tailoring to more slender women, the skirt turned out to be a little bit shorter than it should be on the back. But I’ll make it work anyway:
I refrain from wearing blouses or a button-down shirt. I don’t want to look like a Britney Spears lookalike in a school uniform that sweeps along school halls. I like to wear tight tops instead. I think that it accentuates my small waist.
Depending on the weather condition, I like to wear either a long-sleeved shirt or a turtleneck in black. It is a colourful patchwork-skirt after all, so why not combine different shades that harmonize with the skirt. If you are bold, you can also wear a striped shirt with it. It sounds crazy, but the print mix works surprisingly well.
Even though flat lace-up boots would go well with it, I always choose heels. Finding the right booties wasn’t endeavour, since I have sturdy calves and I’m working on losing holiday pounds from 2017 that I should’ve already lost in 2018. My black thigh-high boots could have been a great option but thanks to “Pretty Woman” the combination of a dress (or a skirt in my case) and those boots were burned in in my brain as negative. Super stupid, I know. Anyways, I found fitting shoes that I felt comfortable in.
Für mich ist der schicke Schotte auf jeden Fall ein hübscher Hingucker, den ich bis zum Frühjahr sicher oft tragen werde. Wer weiß, vielleicht springe ich über meinen eigenen Schatten und trage meine Overknees dazu.
This skirt is such a pretty eye-catcher that I’ll be wearing throughout winter and spring. And how knows, maybe I’ll change my attitude and wear it with thigh-high boots.
