Schwarz, schwarz, schwarz sind alle meine Sachen, weil ich ein kleiner Edgelord bin. Scherz beiseite, wer mich kennt oder meine paar Blogeinträge gelesen hat, der weiß, dass die (Nicht-) Farbe mein Favorit ist. Ganz dicht gefolgt von Blau und Türkis in allen Tönen, was aber eine ganz andere Geschichte ist. Da ist es irgendwie klar, dass ich beim Make-up und der Pflege, wenn möglich, die dunkle Seite bevorzuge.
Black are all my things, because I am a little edgelord. Joke aside. Anyone who knows me or has read my blog entries knows that I love this colour. Closely followed by blue and turquoise in all hues, but that is a different story. So, it is quite clear that I am drawn to the dark side when it comes to make- up and beauty products.
Schwarz ist gleichzeitig bescheiden und arrogant. Schwarz ist faul und leicht – aber geheimnisvoll. Aber vor allem sagt Schwarz: Ich störe dich nicht- also störe mich nicht.

Augen/Eyes
Fangen wir mit dem Offensichtlichen an. Seit ich ein Teenie bin, sind Smokey eyes und ein scharf gezogener Lidstrich für mich die beste Art meine Augen zu betonen. In den frühen 2000ern war der Gebrauch von Lidschattenpinseln nicht der Usus. Ich wusste zwar Bescheid, aber die Dinger waren sauteuer und irgendwie musste ich meine Musik- und Klamottensucht ja auch finanzieren. Also quälte ich mich entweder mit schrottigen Applikatoren ab oder klaute die Pinsel meiner Mama, die sie zum Malen benutzte (sorry Mum!). Das hatte zur Folge, dass ich aussah, als ob man einen besoffenen Waschbären mit Cleopatra gekreuzt hätte. Mittlerweile habe ich halbwegs den Dreh heraus und gelernt, dass die beste Technik nichts nutzt, wenn die Produkte nicht passen. Daher ist seit gut sieben Jahren mein heiliger Gral der Liquid Last Liner von MAC. Einmal aufgetragen, überlebt er Tauchgänge im Pool, die Sauna, Konzerte, Tränen und teilweise auch mein Waschgel. Wo der Liquid Last ist, ist auch meist der Paint Pot in „Blackground“ nicht weit. Ich komme wirklich lange damit aus und der Preis stimmt für mich auch. Weil mich der „Cat Eyes Black Eyeliner“ von Douglas vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis positiv überrascht hat, dachte ich, ich packe ihn auch mit ins Bild. Schon ziemlich zusammengeschrumpft ist der Slide on Pencil von Nyx in „Jet Black“, den ich für die Wasserline oder einen nicht so harten Lidstrich benutze.
Let’s start with the obvious. Since I was a teenager smokey eyes and a sharp winged liner have been the best way for me to accentuate my eyes. In the early 2000s, the use of brushes to apply the eyeshadow wasn’t that common. I certainly knew about it, but let’s face it: the brushes were freakin’ expensive and I had to finance my music and clothing-addiction somehow too. So, I had to put up with crappy applicators or stole my mama’s brushes that she used for painting (sorry Mum!). That had the result, that I looked like a cross between a drunk racoon and Cleopatra. By now, I got the hang halfway out of it and I also learned that the technique is useless, if the products suck. That’s why my Liquid Last Liner from MAC has been my holy grail for about seven years now. Once applied, it survives diving in the pool, the sauna, concerts, tears and sometimes even my makeup remover gel. Usually MAC’s paint pot in “Blackground” isn’t that far from the liquid last liner. To me it contains a lot of product and the pricing is fair. Because I was so surprised by the price-performance ratio, I thought, I put the „Cat Eyes Black“ Eyeliner from Douglas. The Slide on Pencil from NYX in “Jet Black” has pretty much dwindled to half of its size. I like to use it for the waterline or a softer line.
Lippen/Lips
Eines vorab: Schwarze Lippen sind noch immer nicht salonfähig. Weder abends und schon gar nicht tagsüber. Das tangiert mich natürlich nur peripher, denn ich mag den Kontrast, der zur pinker oder pastellfarbener Kleidung gebildet wird. Ansonsten reduziere ich den Rest vom Make-up auf ein Minimum und achte darauf, dass die Farbe perfekt aufgetragen ist. Kleine Patzer sind sofort sichtbar und seien wir uns ehrlich: Luftküsschen zu den doof starrenden Leuten werfen macht nur mit einem perfekten, schwarzen Kussmund Spaß. Meine Favoriten sind hier die Produkte von Nyx. Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in „Alien“ deckt perfekt, Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in “Go rogue” schimmert schön vor sich hin und “Cold hearted” aus der Wicked Lippie Reihe benutze ich entweder als glitzernden Top Coat für „Alien“ oder zum Oberflächen für das Titelbild anschmieren.
One thing in advance: black lips are still not accepted. Not in the evening or let alone during the day. Of course, I am not really fussed about it, because I just love the strong contrast that is formed between the black and the pink or pastel clothing. Apart from that, I like to reduce my makeup to a minimum and take care that the colour is applied perfectly. Little Mistakes are very visible and let us be frank: Blowing kisses to baffled staring people is more fun, with perfect black pursed lips. My favourite products are from Nyx. Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Alien” has the best coverage, Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in “Go rogue” shimmers beautifully and “Cold hearted” from the Wicked Lippie range is used as glittery top coat for “Alien” or to smear on surfaces for the cover picture.
Toner
Schon seit Jahrhunderten ist Aktivkohle ein fester Bestandteil in der japanischen Naturheilkunde. Bei uns hat es ein bisschen gedauert, bis ein regelrechter Beauty-Hype darum herrschte. Ein Inhaltsstoff, der wie ein Schwamm alle Schadstoffe aufsaugt, mich zur strahlenden Schönheit macht und schwarz wie mein Humor ist? Da bin ich doch dabei! Der Neuling in meinem Bad ist das Mizellen-Reinigungswasser von Balea, dass ich mir vor gut über einen Monat in einem Kaufanfall bei DM geholt habe. Ich fand anfangs die etwas zähflüssige Konsistenz gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber alles in allem ist das Ding solide. Zumindest reagiert meine Haut nicht mit Sperenzchen darauf und das ist schon mal viel Wert.
Activated Carbon has been an inherent part in the Japanese naturopathy. It took us a little while until there was a real hype around it. An ingredient that absorbs all the pollutants like a sponge, that turns me into a striking beauty and is as black as my humour? Well, count me in! The Newbie in my bathroom is the micellar water from Balea that I bought over a month ago in a shopping frenzy. In the beginning, I had to get used to the somewhat viscous consistency but all in all it is quite solid. At least my skin doesn’t react negatively to it- which is a good starting point.
Maske/Mask
Wenn meine Wenigkeit mal wieder die Nacht zum Tag gemacht und dann dementsprechend verquollene Augen, hat dann hilft nur eines: literweise Kaffee, Tonnen von Concealer und die „Glam Rock Abracadabra Mask“ von too cool for school. Irgendwann ist sie mir beim Browsen nach Beauty-Neuheiten aus Korea und Japan bei Amazon ins Auge gestochen. Es ist eine dünne, sich glitschig anfühlende Hydrogel-Maske, die wunderbar auf der Haut aufliegt und nicht so leicht abfällt, wenn man sich bewegt. So kann ich wie ein glamouröser Panzerknacker in der Wohnung herumwandern, während die Pflegestoffe meine sensible Augenpartie mit Feuchtigkeit versorgen. Und wenn alle Stricke reißen, dann habe ich noch immer eine Kylo Ren-Maske, mit der ich unter die Leute gehen oder die Galaxie an mich reißen kann. Man weiß ja nie, was mir als nächstes einfällt.
When my humble self turns night into day and the result puffy eyes are, then only these things help: loads of coffee, tons of concealer and the die „Glam Rock Abracadabra Mask“ from too cool for school. I came across it sometime ago when I was browsing through Amazon for beauty novelties from Korea and Japan. It is a thin Hydrogel mask that has a slimy feel to it, but it holds up perfectly onto the face. Looking like one hell of a glamorous Beagle Boy, I can move around in the apartment while care substances provide my sensitive eye area with moisture. If everything fails, I still can put on my Kylo Ren mask if I want to be among people or takeover the galaxy. You never know, what I am up to next.
